Why did the foundry decide to issue a free font? We had originally intended to include it as part of the Grit Primer Collection, but by the time the collection got up to eight fonts, (Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, Titling, Titling Bold, Swash, Swash Italic) we had long intended to just set up this bonus.

Grit Typesorts is designed for use with Baseline Fonts fonts like Grit Primer, Old Times American and other fonts from the collection.

Two years have passed since Grit Primer was released. Now, finally, we are getting around to the bonus, and, well, it's FREE!

We do have plans to release several additional bonus sorts like the Grit Typesorts, so let us know what you think, and if these are useful for layout. We also always appreciate seeing the fonts in use and will feature your designs on the new :Launch pages.

While the font is free, please remember that it is still covered under the Baseline Fonts End User License Agreement. All that really applies here is that you aren't going to post the files to some other site and you aren't going to try and sell it.
